Workshops: Youth and Sexual Violence 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago  
1 in 4 Females and 1 in 8 Males are likely to experience sexual violence in their lifetime.

The prevalence of sexual violence in New Zealand is devastating to individuals and society. The aim of prevention programmes needs to be to foster social norms and environments in which sexual violence does not occur.

If you are considering working with youth to prevent sexual violence in the community, attend this workshop.

In this one-day, interactive workshop you will learn:

- The latest research - what works in prevention education regarding
sexual violence & youth
- The legal aspects of sexual violence
- Common Issues that arise specifically for youth in regards to sexual violence
- How to use safe effective pathways to responding to disclosures
- Prevalence, dynamics and effects of childhood sexual abuse and sexual violence
- The practical implications for clients and professionals
- Services available in your area and how to best access them

Workshop dates: 19 May, 8 July and 6 October.

Time: 9am - 4.30pm.

Venue: The Trusts Stadium, Canam Room, 67 Central Park Drive, Henderson.

Cost: $195 + GST.
