“To ensure those people that work with young people, are supported, valued and connected.”

Strategic Goals

NZAAHD will:

  • Champion Maori youth development
  • Strengthen its voice in critical youth debates
  • Support the professional development of people who work with young people
  • Disseminate and promote up to date, relevant research and information, that progresses thinking, and informs practice on youth health and development.. 
  • Support open discussions that reflect multiple world-views on youth health and development (eg indigenous, faith-based, scientific rationalism, gay / queer).
  • Transform Youth Week into a successful social marketing/public health campaign
  • Have strong regional networks and branches
  • Help facilitate and support ‘space / opportunities’ for young people who work on youth issues to share together, reflect on their experience, and formulate plans / goals.
